Alright, so I found myself needing a spot in Cork, a proper bed and breakfast, you know? Wasn’t after anything too fancy, just a good base to explore from. - Price: Had a budget in mind, like most folks. Trying to find that sweet spot between “not a dive” and “not breaking the bank.”
So, I spent a good bit of time sifting through listings. Some of the descriptions were a laugh. “Quaint and charming” can sometimes mean “tiny and old,” you know? I was really looking at the pictures, trying to see if the rooms looked clean and comfortable. You learn to spot the tricky camera angles after a while.
I shortlisted a few. Then I went back and looked at their locations on a map. Crossed a couple off that were just too far out. Then, back to the reviews for the remaining ones. One place had a few too many mentions of “thin walls,” so that was a no-go for me. I like my sleep!
Eventually, I narrowed it down to one that seemed to tick all the boxes. Good reviews, pictures looked decent, location was spot on, and the price wasn’t going to make my eyes water. So, I took the plunge and booked it. Felt like a bit of an achievement, to be honest, after all that searching.
The Actual Stay
And you know what? It worked out pretty well. The place was clean, the bed was comfy, which is always a bonus. The lady running it was a character, full of chat and local tips. And the breakfast? Spot on. Just what I needed to set me up for a day of wandering around Cork.
So yeah, that was my little adventure in finding a bed and breakfast in Cork. Took a bit of digging, a bit of comparing, but got there in the end. It’s always satisfying when a bit of research pays off, isn’t it? Just had to sort through the options and make a call. That’s the way it goes, I suppose.
