Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about cookin’ somethin’ with that Boar’s Head Unsalted Turkey Breast. You know, the one they say is good for your heart? Yeah, that one. I got some ideas, not fancy, mind you, just good eatin’.

Healthy Recipe Using Boars Head Unsalted Turkey Breast

First off, you gotta understand, I ain’t no chef. I cook like my mama cooked, and her mama before her. Simple stuff, but it fills your belly and warms your soul. This turkey, though, it’s a bit different. No salt, they say. So, we gotta get some flavor in there ourselves, right?

Okay, so here’s somethin’ easy: Turkey Salad Sandwich, Country Style. Get yourself some of that turkey breast, maybe half a pound or so. Chop it up, not too fine, not too big, just right. Then, you gotta have some mayo. Don’t skimp on the mayo, now. And some celery, chopped up small, like little pebbles. And some onion, but just a little bit, unless you like it strong. Then, a little pepper, black pepper, you know, the kind you grind. And a little bit of mustard, just a dab, for some zing.

  • 1/2 pound Boar’s Head Unsalted Turkey Breast, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or more, to your liking)
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard

Mix it all up in a bowl, real good. Taste it. Needs more pepper? Add it. Needs more mayo? Slop it in there. Don’t be shy. Then, get yourself some bread. White bread, wheat bread, whatever you got. Slap that turkey salad on there, and you got yourself a sandwich. Good for lunch, good for supper, good anytime you’re hungry.

Now, if you want somethin’ a little fancier, not much, but a little, we can make Turkey and Veggie Wraps. This is good if you got some leftover veggies in the fridge. You take that turkey again, chop it up. Then, get some lettuce, big leaves, like romaine or somethin’. And some tomatoes, cut them up in little pieces. And maybe some carrots, shredded. Or cucumbers, if you got ‘em. Anything you like, really. This ain’t rocket science.

Lay out that lettuce leaf, put some turkey on it, then the veggies. Now, here’s the secret: a little bit of ranch dressing. Or, if you don’t got ranch, some Italian dressing will do. Just a drizzle, mind you, don’t drown it. Then, you wrap it up, like a little package. Eat it with your hands, that’s the best way.

Turkey and Potato Hash. This one is good for breakfast or supper, when you want somethin’ hearty. You need some potatoes, boiled and chopped up. And some onions, chopped too. And that turkey, of course. You can even throw in some peppers, if you got ‘em, any color will do.

Get yourself a big pan, put some oil in it, heat it up. Then, throw in the onions, cook ‘em till they’re soft. Then add the potatoes, and the turkey, and the peppers, if you’re usin’ ‘em. Cook it all up, stir it around, till it’s all hot and crispy. You can add a little bit of garlic powder, if you want, and some more pepper. And if you want to be really fancy, you can crack an egg on top, just before it’s done. Cook it till the egg is set, and you got yourself a meal fit for a king… or a farmer!

Now, remember, this ain’t no exact science. You add what you like, you leave out what you don’t. That’s the way I cook, and it’s always turned out alright. And that turkey, even without the salt, it’s good stuff. You just gotta give it a little love, a little flavor, and it’ll treat you right. So go on, get cookin’! Don’t be scared. Even if you mess it up, it’ll probably still taste good. And if it don’t, well, there’s always takeout! But I bet you won’t need it. You got this.
