Well, let me tell ya, these days everybody’s talkin’ ’bout them heart shaped cookie cutter. You see ’em everywhere, in them fancy stores and on the TV. I reckon they’re right popular, especially when folks wanna make somethin’ special, like for that Valentine’s Day or when someone’s gettin’ hitched.

Now, I ain’t no fancy baker, but I’ve made my share of cookies. My grandkids, they love it when I bake. And sometimes, they say, “Grandma, make them heart cookies!” Ain’t that sweet? So, I gotta get me one of them heart shaped cookie cutter. Makes things a whole lot easier, let me tell ya.

You just roll out your dough, you know, the usual kind with the sugar and the butter and all that good stuff. Then, you press that cutter down, and bam! You got yourself a heart. Easy peasy. No need to try and cut ’em out with a knife, lookin’ all wonky and uneven. These cutters, they make ’em all perfect, each and every one.

But listen, if you broke like me and you don’t have one of these cutters. Don’t you worry. I learned a trick from my neighbor. She said “Just use a plastic bottle to make one.” Can you believe it? That old lady is full of surprises.

  • First, you find a plastic bottle, like the kind you get your soda in.
  • Then, you cut off the top part, real careful-like.
  • Wash good.
  • Then you can use that to cut your cookies!

It ain’t as good as the real thing, mind you, but it does the job. It is good for making heart shaped cookie cutter.

I seen some folks get real creative with these heart cookies. They’ll dip ’em in chocolate, sprinkle ’em with colored sugar, or even put two together with some jam in the middle. Makes my mouth water just thinkin’ ’bout it! My grandkids, they love to help with the decoratin’. It gets a little messy, but we sure do have a good time.

And you know what else? These heart shaped cookie cutter, they ain’t just for cookies. I seen folks use ’em for other things too. Like cuttin’ out little sandwiches for a party, or even makin’ shapes outta cheese. Who knew, right? One time, I even saw someone use ’em to make heart-shaped decorations outta clay. Now, that’s somethin’ you don’t see every day.

So, if you’re thinkin’ ’bout gettin’ yourself one of these heart shaped cookie cutter, I say go for it. They’re handy little things to have around, especially if you like to bake. And they make everything look so darn cute, don’t they? Even an old gal like me can appreciate a little bit of cute now and then. And everyone like these cookies.

I remember one time, I made a whole batch of heart cookies for the church bake sale. Well, let me tell ya, they were the first things to go! Everyone wanted a little piece of love, I reckon. And those cookies, they were made with love, that’s for sure. Lots of sugar and butter, too, but mostly love.

Now, if you are making cookies, there is another way to make them heart-shaped. Let me tell you. It is a bit hard, but I will tell you anyway.

  • First, you roll the cookie dough up into a log. Tight! You know what a log is, right?
  • Shape the log so that there are three sides. Like a triangle.
  • Take the back-end of a knife, you know, the not sharp part. Run it down the middle of one of the sides. This makes a groove, like a little valley, for the heart’s top.
  • Then use your hands to shape the two rounded tops. Like two little hills.
  • Make any changes you need. And make a nice heart shape.

So there you have it. If you wanna make cookies, get yourself a heart shaped cookie cutter. Or use a plastic bottle. Or do it the hard way. Just remember to put some love in it! That is the best ingredient. I hope you all have fun making cookies. Bye!
