So, I finally got around to checking out the Galvez Seafood menu the other day. Been hearing some chatter about it, you know, folks saying it’s worth a look if you’re into seafood. Curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to dive in and see what they offered.
First thing, I pulled up the menu. Didn’t go anywhere special, just looked it over. Spent a good bit just scrolling, trying to get a feel for the place through the list of dishes. You know how menus can kinda give off a vibe? This one felt pretty straightforward, lots of classic coastal stuff.
What Jumped Out At Me
Right away, I saw the usual suspects you’d expect:
- Fried Shrimp (a staple, right?)
- Gumbo (always gotta check the gumbo)
- Oysters, prepared a couple of ways
- Some kind of fish platters
But then I noticed they had a decent selection of grilled options too. That caught my eye because sometimes you just don’t want everything fried, you know? Grilled Redfish sounded pretty good, and they had some other grilled fish too. They also listed some pasta dishes with seafood, which seemed a bit different.
Making the Choice (or just thinking about it)
I spent a while going back and forth. Part of me wanted to play it safe with classic fried shrimp, ’cause it’s hard to mess that up badly. But that grilled redfish kept calling my name. Sounded simpler, maybe healthier? I also peeked at the appetizers – crab claws and stuff like that.
In the end, thinking about what I’d actually want to eat, the grilled options won out in my head. It just sounded more appealing than another plate of fried everything. I mentally bookmarked the redfish and maybe some grilled oysters if I was feeling adventurous.
Didn’t actually order anything this time around, was mostly just doing my homework, seeing what the Galvez Seafood menu was all about. But I gotta say, it looks like a solid list. Nothing too fancy, just classic seafood done a few different ways. Felt like standard Gulf Coast fare, which is fine by me. Gives me a good idea of what to expect if I ever do decide to grab a bite from there. Definitely keeping that grilled redfish in mind for next time.
