Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk ’bout what to eat with that chicken noodle soup, you know, the stuff you slurp when you’re feelin’ under the weather or just plain cold. I ain’t no fancy cook, but I know what tastes good with it, so pay attention.

Side Dishes for Chicken Noodle Soup: Simple and Delicious Recipes

First off, let’s talk bread. You gotta have somethin’ to sop up all that good broth, right? Now, you can go simple with some plain ol’ white bread. Nothin’ wrong with that. But if you wanna get a little fancy, try some biscuits. Yeah, them fluffy, buttery biscuits. Warm ’em up and they’re just perfect for dunkin’. I’m tellin’ ya, it’s a match made in heaven. My grandbaby, she loves them biscuits with soup, always asks for more.

Another good bread option is that crusty stuff. You know, the kind that crackles when you bite into it? Yeah, that’s the stuff. And if you’re feeling real adventurous, get yourself some of that fancy olive oil, the kind with the herbs and garlic in it. Dip that bread in it and you won’t be sorry. My neighbor, Martha, she always does that, says it makes the soup taste even better. She’s a bit of a know-it-all, but she’s right about this one.

Okay, now let’s move on to somethin’ a little heartier. You know, somethin’ to fill ya up. Potatoes are always a good choice. And I ain’t talkin’ ’bout no plain boiled potatoes, no sir. We’re gonna make ’em with garlic and parmesan cheese. Easy peasy. Just chop them up, toss ’em with some olive oil, garlic, parmesan cheese, and bake ’em till they’re nice and crispy. The kids love them. They eat them like candy.

Another thing I like to make is a chicken club sandwich. Yeah, I know what you’re thinkin’, that’s a lot of chicken. But trust me, it works. You got your chicken in the soup, and then you got some more chicken in the sandwich. It’s like a double dose of goodness. And you can put whatever you want on that sandwich. Lettuce, tomato, bacon, whatever you got on hand. My husband, he likes to add some mayo, says it makes it extra tasty.

Now, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ a little lighter, you can always go with a salad. A nice crispy salad with some of that vinaigrette dressing. The kind that’s a little tangy. That’ll cut through the richness of the soup and cleanse your palate or somethin’ fancy like that, you know? My daughter-in-law, she’s always makin’ salads. She says they are good for you. I guess that’s true, but I still like them potatoes better, ha!

And don’t forget the simple stuff! Cheese, you know, a little cheddar or some Colby? And pickles. Yeah them sour ones. They just go good with everything and that chicken noodle soup is no different. My momma, she always had pickles with soup. Said it helped settle your stomach. And sometimes she’d put some fruit on the side. Like sliced apples or pears. It’s light, sweet, and you know, it’s good for ya, so why not?

Oh and one more thing, if you got those root vegetables, the ones from the ground, those are good too. Like carrots and turnips and such. You can cook them up any way you like. Roast ’em, boil ’em, mash ’em, whatever you want. Just make sure they’re cooked through and seasoned good. They’re kinda filling and go well when you want something “more” than just soup, you know?

Side Dishes for Chicken Noodle Soup: Simple and Delicious Recipes

So there you have it. A whole bunch of ideas for what to eat with your chicken noodle soup. You don’t gotta make ’em all at once. Just pick one or two and you’ll be good to go. And remember, don’t be afraid to experiment. Cooking ain’t an exact science. It’s about having fun and making something that tastes good. So get in that kitchen and start cooking. Your belly will thank ya later.
