So, I heard about this place, Goodfellas Seafood Hut & Bar, from a buddy. He kept going on about it, saying the vibe was cool and the seafood was decent. Figured I’d check it out myself last weekend.

Finding the place wasn’t too hard, tucked away a bit but got there eventually. Walked in, and yeah, it’s got that ‘hut’ feel, kinda casual, lots of wood, fishing nets maybe? Didn’t look too closely, just wanted a seat. It was kinda busy, lots of chatter, which is usually a good sign, right?
Sat down at the bar area, seemed like the quickest way to get service. The bartender slid a menu over. Lots of fried stuff, grilled fish, oysters, shrimp – the usual seafood joint lineup. Took me a minute to decide.
What I Ended Up Getting
Decided to keep it simple. Started with some oysters. They shucked ’em right there. Slurped those down pretty fast. They were okay, fresh enough I guess. Then, I went for the fried shrimp basket. Can’t really mess that up too badly, usually.
- Oysters: Came with lemon and hot sauce. Did the job.
- Fried Shrimp Basket: A good pile of shrimp, fries, and some coleslaw thing on the side.
- Beer: Just grabbed a local draft, something light.
The shrimp came out hot, crispy coating. Not bad at all. Fries were standard fries, nothing to write home about, but they were hot too. The beer washed it all down nicely. Service was alright, the bartender was busy but kept my glass filled when he could.
Stayed for maybe an hour or so. Watched the people coming and going. It’s definitely a local spot, seemed like a lot of regulars hanging out. The ‘bar’ part of the name is accurate, quite a few folks just there drinking and talking.
Finished up my food, paid the tab. Overall? It was fine. Not mind-blowing, but a solid place if you’re just looking for some straightforward seafood and a beer in a laid-back spot. Did the job, filled me up. Probably wouldn’t go way out of my way to return, but if I was nearby and hungry for some fried shrimp, sure, why not.
