You know what? I been seeing these things called Saffron Road Frozen Meals popping up everywhere. I tell ya, back in my day, we cooked everything from scratch. But these young folks, they’re always in a hurry. So, frozen meals it is. This Saffron Road, they got all kinds of these meals. I saw them at the Kroger. They got this Saffron Road Chicken Tikka Masala. What even is that? Sounds fancy.
They got these meals in the frozen food part, where they keep the ice cream and them frozen pizzas. These Saffron Road Frozen Meals are all single, just for one person. I guess that’s good if you live alone. Saves you from cooking a whole pot of something you ain’t gonna finish. But a lot of food only make you fat. I don’t eat a lot. Keeps me in good health.
I seen ’em at Walmart, too. That big store, got everything under the sun. They got all kinds of Saffron Road Frozen Individual Meals. And they got all these different flavors. It’s a whole different world from when I was young. We just ate what we grew. Now they got food from all over the place. All you need is money. You can find everything at the store. But the price can be very different. I like cheap things.
My neighbor, she’s a good girl, she told me about this place called Whole Foods. Said they got these Saffron Road things there, too. She said they’re healthy. Healthy this, healthy that. They say you can even order them online now. And they bring them right to your door. Imagine that. We used to have to walk miles to the store. And now, they bring the store to you. I don’t understand, but young people like it.
These Saffron Road folks, they make all kinds of different meals. Some with chicken, some with beef. I saw one with lamb. We used to raise sheep, you know. Had a whole flock. But it’s a lot of work. Easier to just buy it at the store now, I guess. But nothing tastes better than the food you grow yourself.

This Saffron Road, it’s a company, I think. Started by some man. He wanted to make these halal meals. That’s for the Muslim folks. They have special food, too. They have their way to kill the animals. My neighbor she told me about that. I don’t eat that, but some people like it. They can buy these Saffron Road Frozen Meals.
They got all these meals at the grocery store now. It’s amazing, really. So many choices. Too many choices, if you ask me. Makes it hard to decide. Back then, you ate what you had. No fussing about it. And all food were fresh. We cooked it ourselves. If we didn’t have, we would borrow some from neighbors. Now, you have many choices. Saffron Road Frozen Meals are just one of them.
I guess these Saffron Road Frozen Meals are good for people who are busy. Or people who don’t know how to cook. Or people who want to try something different. There’s a meal for everybody, I suppose. Just pick what you like. It’s all about your preference.
But me? I still like my cooking. Good, simple food. Made with love. Can’t get that in a frozen meal, no matter what they say. But these young people, they like these Saffron Road Frozen Meals.
